– Being present at Asian Aerospace is a must, as we clearly see this region as an emerging market for Gripen!
Bob Kemp, Gripen International Director of Sales, was confident in stating the company’s participation in this year’s Asian Aerospace a necessity as he met with journalists at a press briefing in Singapore yesterday. Gripen International, the company which, together with parent company Saab stands behind the well-known Swedish fighter jet Gripen, is proudly exhibiting a non-flying aircraft, allowing the public to come and see and even sit in the world’s most advanced multimisson/swingrole fighter aircraft currently in operation.
– This will be our largest ever Asian Aerospace air show participation and I would be surprised if we don’t bring aircraft for a full flying display next time, Bob Kemp added.
Gripen – the first aircraft of the new generation Net Centric Warfare fighters to achieve full operational status – offers outstanding flexibility, interoperability, and true multi-role/swing-role capability. Already in full operational service with Sweden and NATO member Czech Republic, it was designed to undertake air-to-air, air-to-surface and reconnaissance missions and to be able to change roles in the air with the simple press of a button. Gripen is cleared for a variety of stores and as a result of its unique weapons system capability, will enable a swift integration of weapons to the customer’s choice.
– Obviously the South East Asia, as a major procurer of defence equipment is of keen interest to us. The enhanced participation this year is a follow-up on a number of contacts we had and discussions we entered last time, says Anders Annerfalk, Communication Manager, Gripen International.
